It’s a Robot Rebellion in Insane Robots

If you have been around the indie game circuit in the UK for the last couple of years, it would be hard to miss a game called Insane Robots. I’ve seen it myself on two separate occasions at events in London and Birmingham and I’ve always been more than happy to spend time chatting with developers Playniac about recent updates and developments.

This game is a quirky strategy game with elements of a turn-based card-battler. You play as a robot that, due to an apparent malfunction, has been thrown into an arena to fight for survival against other malfunctioning robots. You have one mission: to defeat all other robots in the arena and get out! In each battle, you have to build up your attack and defence stats by playing a series of cards. The order in which you play them is important because you need to try and get the highest combo you can.

One of the other fun aspects of Insane Robots is that each arena map is procedurally generated so you never know who you are going to come up against, and there are over 43 different robots on the roster, and what other hazards are going to be in your way.

As you can see from the gameplay trailer above, it looks like a lot of fun and continues to be a hit at UK gaming expos and it hasn’t even been released yet! So, when it is coming our way? Well, we don’t know yet. The game’s developer keeps pushing the date back but we know its only because they want it to be perfect for when it does arrive. What we do know, however, is that it is going to be available on PC and Mac as well as PS4 and XBox One. We will let you know of any release date as soon as we are told but, until then, look out for it on the circuit and give it a go!
